Quote for today

“The more daylight we have, the less electricity we use,” said [Rep. Ed] Markey [D-Massachusetts], who cited Transportation Department estimates that showed the two-month extension would save the equivalent of 10,000 barrels of oil a day.

– “Congress may extend daylight-saving time,” Cnn.com, Thursday, April 7, 2005 Posted: 10:16 AM EDT (1416 GMT)

OK…wait…let’s back up for a minute…does this guy, does the Department of Transportation, think that daylight saving time actually adds daylight hours to the day? I can’t be reading that right, can I?

Beware. It’s the same logic that leads to bringing peace through war, building the economy by growing the deficit, 2 + 2 = ?.
