When most people think of Chicago they think of The El. It passes really close to a lot of buildings in many parts of the city. Downtown in The Loop, there are freizes carved into the buildings at just the right height for a train rider to see.
This apartment building is pretty typical Chicago architecture in many neighborhoods.
This theater in North Lincoln Park was showing a slate that was 90% documentaries.
On our walk from the hotel to the ballpark we could see the lights at Wrigley for blocks. I still think they are a travesty.
I think there may be one of these in every city in America.

No trip to Chicago is complete without a visit to the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field.
It was the Cubs against the Phillies, with Harry Carey watching over the whole thing.
We had extraordinarily good seats.
Good enough to watch the Cubs warming up before the game.
We got the good Matt for this game.
Sammy Sosa hit decently. This one netted him a double.
Jim Thome didn't fair as well.
Candlesticks are always a nice gift. Indeed, the Phillies had some bumps to work out.
They figured it out, though, leaving a final score of Phillies 4, Cubs 3.
