Architecture

The El passes very close

When most people think of Chicago they think of The El. It passes really close to a lot of buildings in many parts of the city. Downtown in The Loop, there are freizes carved into the buildings at just the right height for a train rider to see.

Typical Chicago apartment building

This apartment building is pretty typical Chicago architecture in many neighborhoods.

Rococo theater

This theater in North Lincoln Park was showing a slate that was 90% documentaries.

Lights over Wrigley behind El tracks

On our walk from the hotel to the ballpark we could see the lights at Wrigley for blocks. I still think they are a travesty.

Darkhorse bar and grill

I think there may be one of these in every city in America.

Sammy Sosa hit decently. This one netted him a double.

They figured it out, though, leaving a final score of Phillies 4, Cubs 3.
